News Update - August 2018

Thank you to all of you who have been in touch over the summer and for your contributions. Here is the latest news for August.

1) Economy Group

The economy group are about to send out a questionnaire to 200 local businesses including farms to gather facts and views on future development in the Parish.

2) Environment Group

The environment group have been gathering data on the different hamlets, your views from the web on open spaces and are now seeking your opinion on important views you would like to see protected in the Neighbourhood Development Plan.

3) 'Vistas' Survey - Please send us your photos!

As part of the environmental group work, please do their vista survey and send us your photographs of other views you would not like to see blighted by any development including houses, poly tunnels, masts, solar panels. They must be views open to everyone from a public footpath or space. To take part click here and follow the simple steps - it's easy! I would like to say a special thank you to Barrie Fischer of Uphampton for his photographs of the vistas - some of which are shown on the right.

4) Social & Transport Groups

The social group are gathering views from local services and facilities such as the village halls, and the transport group are putting together a report on traffic, parking and transport.

5) Household Questionnaire - Help Needed Please

We have free technical help funded by the Government who are assessing the housing need and demand locally for us. The household questionnaire is nearing completion and we hope to send this out in late September or early October. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS to help with hand delivery and collection of the questionnaires. We have 1000 homes to reach out to, and we need volunteers who will offer to do 10 houses each please. If you can help please send your contact details stating where in the parish you live to Judy Goodman at e-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. Sue CollierAnd lastly ...

Lastly I am sure you have all been wondering about sites for future development. Wychavon are currently reviewing the South Worcestershire development Plan and did a ‘call for sites’ earlier this summer ending on the 2nd of July. We will learn from them in September what sites from this parish have been put forward before we decide whether we need to do our own ‘call for sites’ as well ready for our independent assessor to examine for suitability.

With kind regards

Calling all Volunteers

If you feel that you would like to help, we need volunteers. The Parish Council cannot do this by themselves.  We need help with planning, communications, secretarial support, data analysis, IT and graphic design, and we will need help for manning drop-ins, coffee mornings, leaflet posting, photography and so on.

Everyone welcome!
