News Update - January 2019

Happy New Year! The Toad team sends our best wishes for the year to come, and thanks you for your on-going interest and support as we work towards drafting our Neighbourhood Plan for Ombersley and Doverdale Parish.

1) Household Survey

We were very pleased to receive a 63% response to the survey. 982 delivered and 622 returned. Thanks to all those who helped us achieve such a good result.

Your responses and comments have now been collated and analysed by our independent adviser. We would like to invite you to view the results over coffee and cake at the following venues:

  • Saturday 9th February 2019 at Sytchampton village hall, between 9.30 and 12 noon or
  • Saturday 16th February 2019 at the Jubilee Room, Ombersley village hall, between 9.30 and 12 noon

We hope to see you there, but the results will also be available via the website following these meetings.

Coffee mornings to discuss the Household Survey Results

  • Saturday 9th February 2019 at Sytchampton village hall, between 9.30 and 12 noon or
  • Saturday 16th February 2019 at the Jubilee Room, Ombersley village hall, between 9.30 and 12 noon

2) What Happens Next?

So what happens now you may be asking? Well, the work continues!

Neighbourhood Plan : We will use the results, your comments and the evidence from the steering groups work to write our vision statement, objectives and formulate the policies we wish to include in the draft Neighbourhood Plan. We will be helped by our professional adviser with this. You will have the opportunity to comment on the draft during an obligatory 6 week public consultation, which will come later.

South Worcestershire Plan Review : Site analysis of the sites proposed to Wychavon for the South Worcestershire Plan Review will start shortly. A map of the sites put forward will be available at the coffee mornings. We are receiving free technical assistance with a housing needs and demand review to help us know how many sites we should be advocating, and we are also receiving help with a design statement in order that any future development adheres to the feedback you have given us in the survey and is appropriate to the area.

3) Parish Improvements

Thank you for completing the ‘Parish Matters’ part of the questionnaire. Your feedback will be forwarded to the Parish Council and the boards of the two village halls and will help them to know which improvements you would like to prioritise.

Ombersley Court - Come and see the plans!

Many of you may also be aware Ombersley Court is in new ownership, and although quite separate from the development of the Neighbourhood plan, we thought the coffee mornings may be a good opportunity for the new owner to share his plans for the Court and its grounds with you, and he has accepted the invitation to come along.

Sue CollierThe volunteers hope to see you at the coffee mornings to hear more of your views, but otherwise we will continue to update you via this website.

With kind regards

Sue Collier

Calling all Volunteers

If you feel that you would like to help, we need volunteers. The Parish Council cannot do this by themselves.  We need help with planning, communications, secretarial support, data analysis, IT and graphic design, and we will need help for manning drop-ins, coffee mornings, leaflet posting, photography and so on.

Everyone welcome!
